Programming

Hi everyone,

It’s been nearly a year since I have last posted. Actually I started a blog at Tumblr and it’s mainly about photography.

I’m going to use this one for computing and programming stuff.

I’ve been away from programming with Linux for about a year now. But I just installed Fedora 14 on a virtual mchaine and I’m planning on learning Python and maybe more Java stuff.

Anyways it’s been a long year learning about windows and Linux administration tools, and I think it’s time for me to get back on the progmming side.

I will post as soon as I have something interesting and worthy to post about until then pay me a vitsit at :

Here is a nice article that I wanted to share with you : ->>>LINK<<<<- . It’s about Optimizing your C code. I guess you can apply it  to other programming language also.

(Two posts the same day after more than a month of nothing (O_O) )

Hi again;

It’s been more than a month since I made my last post. I’m sorry about that. But quiet strange the way I’m posting throught this blog is reflecting, somehow, my life. Anyways, I’d like to say that I’ll try and make some more posts. What will be interesting for me is to write some article-like posts. It will be good practice for my english writing.

On the Open source side of things. I heard that Fedora 10 and the new Ubuntu are out .  I would have loved to try them out but I don’t have that much download speed. It will cost me more or less two weeks to download the DVD version of each distros. I’ll try Open Suse 11.1 though. Why I’m I waiting for it ? Because it will be shiped by default with the next Amarok :).

Also a fact to mention, I didn’t practiced my Qt programming in a while. I’m workng right now with on a little project with .net and C# and I’ll rewrite it with Qt and C++.

That’s all for now, untill the next post then 😉

Hi everyone , I’m passing by as fast as I can (If there were some kind of Dopler effect you would have noticed it ).

Anyways here is a link to a site called ICS Network . What’s special about it is that it holds interesting Qt ressources. Under the Learning Center tab you can find Video tutorials and white papers , seminar and trainig courses you can attend depending on where you live on this planet .

Hope this will be helpful to you as it has been to me.

Again I didn’t manage to put post I i’ve been busy elsewhere, sorry about that. But here is a new post about gdb. Gdb stands for GnuDebugger. If your using Linux/Unix systems it’s a must have tool. I’ve come throught a segmentation fault and it really helped me finding where the problem where coming from. So here are two links if you want to give it a try

Here are two screen-shots of me using gdb (still debugging T_T)

Well ,well , and another well,

It’s been a week and some time since I started learning QT 4, and again I must say that I’m not disappointed. The thing is I’ve been using it without an IDE since it doesn’t have an official one . It’s not a problem though. I searched for an IDE and i found this one, it’s called Monkey Studios Monkey Studios Header page

It’s a cross-platform IDE, and supports a plugins system to expend it’s functionnality .For me I downloaded the monkeystudio_1.8.2.0+svn2110.src.zip Mirror package. To compile and installed I followed what is written in the readme.txt file and it went perfect. Then i retrieved the Binary file form /usr/local/bin and it worked fine .

I’m currently in the process of writting a c++ GUI application using Qt as a GUI programming interface. I’m not sure to use Monkey studios right away but for sure I’m gonna use it and give feedback to the team developing it.

Bellow are screen shots of Monkey studios :

Hello everyone,

When writing the last post I barely imagined that it would reach more than 100 views. I was really surprised. The source of this giant leap is a referrer tuxmachine.org. That was awesome, I’m really glad and thankful. Beside that I decided to give a new look to the blog. The work I did was on the header, I’m not a designer so that’s my limit 😉 .

Other thing I started learning the Qt framework It’s really amazing .I started learning it because I wanted to practice my c++.My choice was made  because it’s free for an open source use ( must be purchased if planning to sell product) and because the source code written is platform independent , there is only the need to recompile on the specific supported platform ( Linux, Mac or Windows) . The image bellow shows how the framework is organized.

I used this site called http://www.siteduzero.com/ .It’s a really nice site i recommend it for everyone that can read french and wants to start learning c , c++ or java etc .The official documentation is also great .
